Thanks for editing my post, bystander, and thanks for pointing out the supernova, starsurfer!

Wow, a brand-new supernova in a picture that Adam didn't take for that reason at all - that's fantastic! :D :D :D

It's great to see your first posted image Ann!!! Not only is it the most detailed amateur image of this galaxy, there is another special thing about it. It contains a new supernova that was serendipitously captured by Adam and spectra and other information is being gathered right now! I think (and hope) the discovery of this supernova will be credited to Adam!! You can see the supernova marked in his image and read more here: http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html

Hubble: Galaxies Across Space and Time

"Hubble: Galaxies Across Space and Time" is an award-winning IMAX Super Short. Explore 9 billion years of cosmic history in less than three minutes as you fly through one of Hubble's iconic images. These galaxies were photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope as part of the Great Observatory Origins Deep Survey (GOODS) project. Hubble scientists and imaging specialists worked for months to extract individual galaxy images, placing them in a 3D model according to their approximate true distances.

Although originally catalogued as a planetary nebula, this might actually be a planetary nebula impostor! More info here: http://arxiv.org/abs/1210.2841

Thanks very much, starsurfer! As you might guess, I'm rather fond of the owl nebulae!

Thank you so much, starsurfer!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I checked Adam Block's latest galaxy image. It is indeed to big for me to post here, so it's a good thing I posted it as a link.
