Off topic: by the way - the public ALL (in my experience) know the Pythagorean Theorem , and they know what it MEANS too! Also, they all know that E=mc^2, and while they know what it means in practical terms, what they don't know is that it results from a simple extension of that same Pythagorean Theorem: http://henry.pha.jhu.edu/ritamahon.pdf (All that is needed is high-school algebra!)
