A really good story on Apollo 11, Carry the Fire, by Michael Collins.
Collins was the Command Module Pilot and stayed in orbit during the first moon landing.
Excellent read.

Challenge accepted, eh? I look forward to what you're going to find, starsurfer! :D

What I found is in the above post?!
Oh! I finally got what you were referring to. It's David Malin's A View of the Universe, right?

That's a glorious book, but it isn't specifically devoted to portraying the 88 constellations in the sky. In my opinion, David Malin's book is so, so much more fun to read, but the pictures in Atlas der Sternbilder are superior.

All my books are old, because I get my astronomy information on the net nowadays.

But here's a book I can really recommend. It's in German, but you won't care about the text anyway. The pictures are beyond gorgeous. It's called Atlas der Sternbilder by Eckhart Slawik and Uwe Reichert, and it is full of the most amazing color pictures of all the constellations in the sky. I'll challenge you to find a finer collection of pictures anywhere of all the 88 constellations in the sky.

Oops, sorry, that definitely was a mix up.
Thanks Case and starsurfer for your recommendations. Please keep me posted if you chance upon any other great books on the subject. :)

I’m currently reading a book on planet hunting by a Dutch astrophysicist, after attending a very interesting guest lecture by the author at a local community observatory. I haven’t seen anything about translations of the book, though.

With my love of planetary nebulae, I would recommend Cosmic Butterflies and also this galaxy book in German.

Another great read is the Handbook of Starforming Regions, parts of which you can find for free.

Hey everyone,

Was looking for recommendations on books related to astronomy, could be fictional or non-fictional.

Here are some that I already have read (it's not much).

Non-fiction
Carl Sagan - Cosmos
Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michael A. Strauss, J. Richard Gott - Welcome to the Universe
Terence Dickinson - Nightfall
Guy Consolmagno, Dan M. Davis - Turn Left at Orion
H. A. Rey - The Stars: A New Way to See Them
H. A. Rey - Find the Constellations
Stephen Hawking - A Brief History of Time
Stephen Hawking - The Theory of Everything

Fiction
Carl Sagan - Contact
Arthur C. Clarke - 2001
Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Andy Weir - The Martian
(+ Stories by Isaac Asimov)

Also, I wanted to read a book on the Apollo missions, and was considering getting A Man on the Moon by Andrew Chaikin.
