Dom,

Yes, that link of
http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/db_shm? ... &group=all
proved to be more than what I was after. Very interesting. Thank you.

Respectfully, I didn't just link to the APOD, but to a page with the prominent title near the top: "Finder Charts and Orbital Diagrams
C/2004 Q2 (Machholz) Orbital Diagrams."

Linked from that first link are these two figures:
http://encke.jpl.nasa.gov/images/04Q2/q2-outer.gif
http://encke.jpl.nasa.gov/images/04Q2/q2-inner.gif

Again, if I'm mistaken with regards to the information you're seeking, my apologies, but it would appear as if I've provided a web page giving what you're after.

Best,
~Neal

No. That APOD only shows an image of the comet, not the path it will be taking through the solar system.

This page was referenced in 13 December 2004's APOD: Announcing Comet Machholz. Is that not what you're after?

Trajectory for Comet Machholz

Can anyone point me to an image or plot of the trajectory of the new Comet Machholz? I know NASA or other organizations often produce a 'map' showing the sun, planetary orbits and the trajectory of a particular comet, and I would like to understand the path of this comet in relation to the solar system.
