I think it looks like a whole fish also! The sea of space gives it a lot of room to swim in! :mrgreen:

When we look at the nebulae; we let our imaginations take hold, and see all kind of things! Kind of like looking at clouds going by on a partial cloudy day! :lol2:

The Fishhead nebula is the brightest and "outsticking" part of the Heart Nebula, and the Fishhead appears to be where the current action is.

Just one brightish star can be seen in the middle of the Fishhead, and to me it looks as if it is responsible for blowing the large cavity of the head. But [url=http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-basic?Ident=GSC+4050+2597&submit=SIMBAD+search]not much is known about this star[/url].

Judging from today's APOD as well as from other pictures, the real ongoing star formation is happening in the fish's "mouth", and certainly also in the chaotic dark dust above the Fishhead, where things seem to be completely in turmoil. It looks to me as if some big things are going on in there!
