<<On November 21, 2021 NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter successfully completed 16th flight on Red Planet capturing anomaly during flight. It might be camera issue or optical effects. Visually it looks like something else is flying around Ingenuity during flight. Technically it most likely optical issues. Current option for rotor speed for Helicopter is 2700 rpm. On Flight 16 Ingenuity climb to 10 meters height and travel 59 meters distance. On Flight 17 Ingenuity’s team is going to make another software update to Mars Helicopter for better navigation capabilities.

I noticed one rock about the centre of the photo where the shadow faces the bottom but that is because the rock is jutting out over the ground and it is pointed directly at the camera. Just like an awning the shadow is beneath the rock.
Andy Dufresne: At the base of that wall, you'll find a rock that has no earthly business in a Mars hayfield. Piece of black, volcanic glass. There's something buried under it I want you to have.

Red: What, Andy? What's buried under there?

Andy Dufresne: [turns to walk away] You'll have to pry it up... to see.

So glad they're able to use Ingenuity to support Perseverance's science mission. I wonder how long that can continue. Can Ingenuity last another 6 months?

[ Now, if only I was able to see the 3D effect. I have no special glasses and I still can't get my eyes to accomplish the technique needed to see Chris' stereo pair. ]

De-anaglyphed version, cross-eyed stereo pair.

With the enlarged image practically all shadows face the lower left side of the photo. I noticed one rock about the centre of the photo where the shadow faces the bottom but that is because the rock is jutting out over the ground and it is pointed directly at the camera. Just like an awning the shadow is beneath the rock. All the other rocks around it are touching the ground leaning away from the camera.

If they enlarge the image it is another result improved with the 3D

I thought today's photo was kind of blaw; but what do I know! It
must have some merit! I did like this

I did like the last entry https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/mission/ ... the-rover/ where you could pan around a bit! 8-)

Image Jezero Crater: Raised Ridges in 3D

Explanation: Get out your red-blue glasses and hover over the surface of Mars. Taken on July 24, the 3D color view is from the Mars Ingenuity Helicopter's 10th flight above the Red Planet. Two images from Ingenuity's color camera, both captured at an altitude of 12 meters (40 feet), but a few meters apart to provide a stereo perspective, were used to construct the color anaglyph. Ingenuity's stereo images were made at the request of the Mars Perseverance rover science team. The team is considering a visit to these raised ridges on the floor of Jezero Crater during Perseverance's first science campaign.
