I'm pretty sure that was "a little black spot on the sun", not a large dark spot. But yes, the phenomena could be related... ;)

Sunspots dont usually make the news check the archive images on the SOHO site to satisfy curiosity.

This occurred about 3-4 months ago the same week that strange lights were seen in the pacific northwest. Both incidents were breifly reported on various news agencies and then nothing. Did anyone see what I saw that Thursday Morning ?
