There is a grand alignment when many of the planets all line up - this last happen in April 2002, and will happen again in 2040. This is believed to have occurred in 2BC and could be wha tthe Magi witnessed, though most of those in the know say Christ's birth was probably 7-4BC.

There are other theories about what the Magi witnessed from a comet to a special alignment of Jupiter and Saturn.

I have heard and read in numerous places that in the year 4 B.C., a majority of the planets aligned in such a fashion that has not been seen before or since.

Could someone please tell me if indeed this is true and if so what the dates were of the alignment. Also, is it predicted that this will happen again.
