From the APOD article, the Moon seems to be comprised of much harder rock than the Earth, probably because the Moon hasn't maintained a molten core on the same scale as our planet. This might account partly for the duration of these Moonquakes.

For the vibrations to last 10 minutes on the moon doesnt there have to be something hard and something hollow for the vib to last that long. like like air for the vib to continue on something hard?

May I suggest asteroids and such are striking the moon causing moon quakes, which would impact ( no pun intended ) the future building design. :)
