. The black hole in the center of a galaxy must be feed by matter to emit radiation. The galaxy is then active. There is another X in the Sea of Serenity, as you can see at the bottom of this picture taken the same day (3 mars) at 19h. Is this X real? I dont see the false X on the APOD picture and on my picture.

If you take the variation between a typical full moon and the extremes, the result is 12,5%, than writing about 15% is ok.

Bok globules and Thackeray globules, picture 18 Apr
