I really appreciate the dedication of the photographer, Andy Casely. Taking that photo yearly lets us see the wonder of Saturn as it moves through space. Science shows us the connections between the very large and the very small.
The whorls and eddies in today's image are visible in my fingerprint.

I'm coming at this from a non-science background, but "information" as you describe it applies to my background too.

APOD is not a blog. Blogs can contain science content, but are, in my mind, opinion, not fact. Consider Pharyngula. Written by a scientist but clearly opinion.
