Re: ...and will soon put on the Antennae...

Uncle Martin, was really my favorite Martian.
I have a great memories of him, Tim, Mrs. Brown, Detective Brennan.
I still try to point the finger, without any results of levitation.

Re: Favorite Artist

Seems as though Mexhunter's submissions have been bleeped as well. I do not know why this happens. Nor could I edit and change the links, so here I put the photos again: Georgia O'Keeffe: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4090/5019665719_c889b8924f_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4108/50196...

Re: Favorite Artist

Favorite Artist, American. Despite being known for his paintings of flowers, I have a taste for two of his works by Georgia O'Keeffe, both seem to me an extraordinary simplicity, evoking the power of believing in order to achieve it. http://lamarilla.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/1958_georgia-okeeffe_...

Re: APOD: Starry Night Over the Rhone (2010 Sep 21)

I have researched a little about it and found this information. It seems that Van Gogh made the painting by the end of September 1888. In those days, at 21:00 hr. Ursa Major was in the position shown in the painting of Van Gogh. To the southwest would find the Milky Way, which with some imagination ...

Re: APOD: Starry Night Over the Rhone (2010 Sep 21)

In another forum, Manuel Liceras makes these references, which is found, it would have concluded that van Gogh was looking towards the South-west and the Big Dipper was on his right, so decided to translate into artistic license in its landscape. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Fr...

Re: APOD: Starry Night Over the Rhone (2010 Sep 21)

Perhaps it is much speculation, but so it seems that Mizar and Alcor, are treated differently in color and texture. Of course at that time it was clear that Mizar and Alcor were forming a binary system, according to Wikipedia, Mizar was the first binary star discovered with the telescope; most Proba...

Re: Tornado Alley: New Vacation Hot Spot

Hi Owlice:
Thank you very much.
This is the Hubbard Glacier.

I really enjoyed this trip, I just missed seeing an aurora, and came to Fairbanks, but it was cloudy and cold on those days.
Another day will be.

Re: InOMN: International Observe the Moon Night

Hi beyond:
Will the "T" the easier loading, as an "E" is not easy to find where to fix it?
Thank you very much for that clarification, I turn to dictionaries and translators, when the matter becomes very technical.
Thank you very much, and really greetings

I think the International Watch Night the Moon will have to wait until next year. Responsible has been an arm of Karl, that brings to mind Alex, just a couple of months ago. Both men, without astronomy education. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/hurricanes/archives/2010/h2010_Igor.html http:/...

This one with more contrast allows better appreciation of the cores of galaxies.
Actually, the photo gives an overall more interesting, at least from the artistic point of view.

Re: APOD: The Veil Nebula (2010 Sep 16)

Veil West, Veil East or Witch's Broom, or is it West?
Why have two names this planetary nebula?
If it is a nebula in expansions, it is appropriate to have several names?
The photo, without question, it is beautiful.
Many greetings

Re: Recent Submissions: 2010 September 11-13

Hello Owlice: Thank you very much, I've seen. Also asked Ignacio de la Cueva, and has given me an extraordinary explanation in Spanish, which helped me to understand that matter is not expanding, only light, and it is these intermittent pulses of both stars away from them. Of course the explanation ...
