Starship Asterisk*

I've been extremely interested in the search for the first galaxies and possibly the Big Event itself. I won't say big bang because it could be something else entirely.

My question is: If were seeing galaxies as they looked in the past. Could it be possible that were seeing our own galaxy too?

Am I miscounting? I only see four galaxies. Where's the fifth one?

I always look up in the winter sky to find Orion. It's my favorite constellation, but I never imagined how beautiful it is. I tell you it left me speechless. This is definitely my favorite APOD picture. Rigelio you have out done yourself.

Why can't we just name galaxies, instead of numbering them? We named the Andromeda Galaxy And our own The Milky Way galaxy. Is it that we are afraid of the alien life forms in other galaxies? Same way with stars. I think it would be easier if Stars didn't have numbers but names.

I wonder what these would look like in color. Come on NASA color photography isn't that expensive. Not false color either I want the real thing. I do see the bug representation here though. Doctor Who once found life on Mars. They were the Frozen Warriors.

Going with Greek mythology. The Upside-down V looks like mount Olympus and the bright star next to it could be Zeus's home.

I just clicked on the link that by bystander provided and as i was staring at it i realized that it looks like the center is closer and the outer parts are farther away so it gives me the impression that it is heading in this direction. WOW!!!! - A fight in outer space between two Galaxies. Seeing as how it should have been over by the time we get the view, i wonder who won? I've never seen a Galaxy take a swipe at another galaxy before. Any one know what the rules are? I'd think violent oh so violent. Ripping worlds and suns apar...
