Re: STScI: Milky Way Contains at Least 100 Billion Planets

About 100 amino acids were found in the Murchison meteorit, fallen in 1969, in Australia. Among those amino acids, it seems that about 20 exist in cells. The Murchison meteorit derives from traces of asteroids, present at the time of the birth of the solar system 4,55 billion years ago. I know that ...

Re: STScI: Milky Way Contains at Least 100 Billion Planets

As we still didn't find out at least another one habitable planet, we should learn to love each others more than what we do. "We stand together, taken away on the same planet, as the crew of a same ship" (Saint-Exupéry). I am sure it is possible, but i wonder how long the road is. Maybe we...

Hello :D

Here is a sunset at Cooper Pedy, an Australian town, called the “opal capital of the world”, in the Outback (cf. http://www.cooberpedy.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=191 ). The population was less than 2,000 people over there, in 2006.

Thanks for looking,
Best regards,

Hey :) Clouds are reflecting lights, so light pollution is annoying for astronomers in cities, like Paris. The sky is almost orange in Paris, all the time. You are right, the Helix nebula does look like something out of Yellowstone, and I know what you are referring to: The Grand Prismatic Spring . If I believed in psychics (and I don't), I would think you are one because I was working last week on a draft for a painting of "The Grand Prismatic S...
