What is the black dot located lower left in the core area? It's not present in other images, and does not seem to be a camera artifact or other processing artifact.

Indeed, but I did read somewhere that much of the material DOES spiral into Jupiter.

I've always had the thought that perhaps the color of the GRB and elsewhere in Jupiter's atmosphere was partially due to the millions (billions?) of years of the sulphur and other material constantly spiralling in from Io. Has this ever been considered?

Seems to me that the crater next to Ahuna Mons is a collapsed caldera, not an impact crater, as many craters on Ceres seem to be. Perhaps Ahuna Mons is destined for the same fate.

I didn't mean Hydra would be a perfect fit......if it were the result of a violent collision then of course Hydra would be smaller than the plain, which it is, and both would have ragged edges. Just a thought.

Closely studying the latest most detailed image of Charon, it looks like a cracked eggshell with the pieces poorly reassembled. Charon impact with Pluto almost shattered it, gravity pulled it back together?

take closer look. Angle and lighting is different but correlate. What is convincing is the rock formation in the middle front of the cave entrance, plus the floor seems to be covered deeper in sand.

Found a still from the movie "The Usual Suspects" and yes it is the same cave. Taken at a different angle and time of day, and tide is out, but rock formations and formation in front of cave entrance correlate. Plus probably a little erosion the last 20 years.

Not sure about the mountain, could be a water volcano. However I did seem to notice that there seems to be flow aprons emanating from the large group of bright spots in the one large crater. Could some of the larger craters actually be volcanic water calderas?

What is Eta Carinae's proper motion in relation to Sol? If it is moving away at a relatively high speed from us then in a few million years when it goes supernova it may be on the other side of the galaxy and not visible to Earth.

As with the other locations of the "hollows" there are hollows that do not have the blue tint or indication of spraying material around them. Are these older hollows and the brighter ones are recent? What has the spectroscopic analysis been of these features?

WOW, i didnt think it possible to get such a detailed photo of Io from a ground based scope. You can even make out a volcanoe! (a dark spot on the right) Have they ever tried to "mask" Io in an attempt to make out a eruption plume?
