Re: APOD Assessment Poll: Leading Question

Like most of the other commenters, I had never particularly noticed opening questions, so I, too, answered 'neither yes nor no'. But now that you have drawn attention to it, it's going to act just like a spot on someone's nose - it will become impossible not to be distracted by it. Thank you very mu...

Re: Bugs? Problems? Report them here!

Well, I can't say whether or not it only happens in Firefox, since that is the only browser I use to view APOD regularly.

In any case, thanks for your thoughts...

Re: Bugs? Problems? Report them here!

No - it's fine. But then I normally use Firefox, and this appears to be something 'getting stuck'. Oh... now here's something interesting: I just opened a new tab in Firefox, and from there the correct video is displayed! If I go back to my original tab and refresh it, though, the old video still di...

Re: Bugs? Problems? Report them here!

I know this has been answered before, but I'm unable to find it in the forum. Whenever APOD contains an embedded video, the one that displays is not the one in the page source, but rather is one from months ago (currently I'm stuck on an aurora from last January). It's very strange, since the HTML s...

Re: Vanishing Apod

It's fixed! At last, the primary link now works for me in New York.

Thank you to whoever it was that did whatever it took.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the problem, since the server sometimes responds with at least a partial page. If it's of any relevance, though, my ISP is Cablevision, NY (aka OptimumOnline)

Re: Vanishing Apod

I've seen the same IP addresses from traceroute that you reported.. it can't be coincidence.

On the other hand, if I traceroute from work, I see *the same* IP addresses, but I have no problems accessing APOD.

Re: Vanishing Apod

I've been having a similar problem, starting around the same time, and at first I thought it was my ISP (Cablevision, NY). However, trace route shows the last resolved hop to be within NASA, at 198.119.56.66. Occasionally, part of the site will display, but inevitably it eventually times out. I've t...
