red and yellow regions shine primarily because of emission
is not quite accurate?

I'm confused. The smaller Ou4 does look like both a squid and a bat, the bigger Sh2-129 certainly doesn't resemble a bat whichever way I look at it.

I have a question: in galaxy pictures with this kind of resolution, can we see their globular clusters and if so, how do I tell one from a dimmer foreground star from our galaxy? You can see them, and they look a lot softer than a MW star and lack diffraction spikes. They'll usually be lumpy, too. ...

Wikipedia disagrees on the size of UGC 2885 being 800kly. It also claims that the largest known spiral galaxy is 'only' 650kly.

The walls are surprisingly opaque when looking from within. The night skies on a planet in that valley would be an interesting sight.
