I noticed some of the larger craters, particularly those on the left in the maria, have a crater within a crater, instead of a peak. Made me wonder if the event that caused the maria “melted” the base of what may have been peaks, causing them to collapse.

Chris , did you end up using software to find the meteors and stack them? I ended up writing code that kind of worked but of course was dominated with planes.

Is anyone familiar with software or script that’s good for detecting meteors in a captured video?

That’s interesting that those elements were created so non-homogeneously, maybe each comes from different depths of the originating star when it explodes.

And are the lower clouds darker due to shadowing by the higher clouds?

Has a 3D stereo image been done of Jupiter’s clouds? That might look amazing to actually see the cloud depth.

Wow that telescope can float for 3 months, what a neat idea. I just watched a live presentation of a similar telescope that targeted the UV spectrum on short flights, which was said has hardly been imaged at all.

I think that makes sense, plus the reflected light back from Mars spreads radially again. The visual comparison between red and gray brightness might make it more confusing too, maybe its worth converting the image to monochrome.

I can only imagine what the imagery of things to come might be like. The galaxy at image center seems to have a smaller galaxy punching through it, maybe creating the arms on the former

Isn’t the apparent moon orbital tilting over time due to an alt/az scope mount vs equatorial?

That’s a really interesting apparent connecting trail of material. I wonder what it might look like in a projected time lapse, to get a sense of where it may have begun and where it’s going.

I believe the random motion between the meteors is minor compared to the collision speed between the Earth and the meteor/comet trail. Thats why they seem to travel across the sky like that. Lens distortion like fisheye also affect the image. Does anyone have a suggestion on software for producing a...
