Re: APOD: Orion and the Running Man (2023 Mar 10)

Very sharp image for such a "small" aperture.

Re: APOD: The Flaming Star Nebula (2023 Mar 01)

This is such a bad process of this image, 0 integrity of the real data. Poor denoising + horrible masking + no usage of sigma clipping in poor staking which causes hot pixel trails of RGB through the whole image... clipped background to a blue hue with no denoising on the comet making it appear as a...

Re: APOD: Seven Dusty Sisters in Infrared (2023 Feb 19)

What happened to this image, the spikes on stars have been added in post and poorly done with literal crosses over the actual star cores. This is no artistic choice this is just wrong and poorly executed especially since you can also see the stitching line artefacts on the image. The person who proc...

Re: APOD: The Asymmetric Nebula Surrounding 18... (2022 Nov 09)

Unfortunately this image has been overprocessed so much that the actual data has been destroyed and the final image looks really bad.

Very interesting to see the expansion of the dust, awesome job on the image , very much a 3D effect with all the contrast from narrowband.

Re: APOD: Spiral Galaxy NGC 6744 (2022 Jun 23)

Again, really bad job at denoising , so much noise in the core , and i think this is data captured with Telescope live , so basically this is just a reprocess of a dataset everyone can get. If only the author would at least post the specifications on detail ?

Re: APOD: Supernova Remnant: The Veil Nebula (2022 Jun 22)

Can you even call this an astrophoto anymore , this image has been manipulated so much it looks more like an oil painting than real data. Yes its starless, but the nebulosity is so badly denoised and processed, sure if you are looking from a phone screen looks ok, but put this on the big screen and ...
