Hyades over Perth, Western Australia

Perth's Bell Tower points (trough Jupiter) to Hyades, Pleiads are on the left ..
Full-Moon (visible bottom part of the halo) was just above the Pleiads, but this time it was not the "subject" of the shot ......

Rainbow Angel I think this is a neat demonstration of three aspects of atmospheric physics here - the high-G turn slowed the plane enough to permit a sharp photograph, which in turn caused a region of high pressure on the top surface of the plane which condensed moisture out of the air for the ethe...

I did not have the optics required to take stunning shots of the transit yesterday. I had a great time viewing it through binoculars, and enjoying the crisp, clear afternoon in Reno, NV.
