A speaker's voice, telling us what we are seeing, would have been nice. Morgan Freeman was not available at the time. :ssmile: Let me try to unravel it. The first seven seconds of the video shows us the black hole accreting matter from the hot (yellow!!) star. It looks to me like the hot...

Hell Dog Nebula?
[edit]Okay, since a "Wolf"-Rayet star is involved, (thanks neufer) it could be a Hell Wolf Nebula.

I saw these giants the other night. I didn't know they are "in" Sagittarius.
I've never really made out Sagittarius, does their brightness (naked, nearsighted eyes) make it hard to be able to make out the "teapot"?

Neufer, I suspect that Ground Penetrating Radar is not all that "ground breaking". Mainly because it shows no evidence of the Moon being a hollow metal sphere! Maybe they need to re-calibrate the instrument or something. Or it is possible the Earth-observing aliens that live inside the Moo...

Well, last night I drove about a mile into the country, set up the camera, telephoto lens, and tripod, and began looking for the comet. As I am a bit nearsighted, I needed to put on my glasses, before I found it. (faint little booger, isn't it). I wasn't able to image it in my camera. Maybe, just ma...

Re: APOD: Mercury's Sodium Tail (2020 Jul 08)
Every body in the Solar System has a tail, because every body is losing atoms to the surrounding space, and there are directional fields and forces present everywhere. But in most cases, these tails are extremely rarefied. I'm pretty sure my "body" doesn't have a tail (visible, anyway), a...

Re: APOD: Bright Planetary Nebula NGC 7027... (2020 Jun 30)
Back to the subject of the nebula NGC 7027, I wouldn't want to mess with helonium acid. If a molecule of it hit our spaceship, it would give away its proton, and it would damage the ship. But it depends on how much of it is around, or how much of it we needed to fly through, I guess. Yeah, I hadn't...
