I had a hard time deciding. After much pondering, at least 15 seconds, i decided on banana, because bananas are almost always good! :yes: :lol2:

I thought

1. We had over Germany heavy storms and many people died through lighting strucks near where I live. Electronics, satellites, nets do not work properly

2. APOD Robot went to summer holidays :lol2:

3. I don't understand what GSFC means....Great starship flight captain maybe? Is he gone? :shock:

Congress is always holding APOD hostage. Anything to cut taxes for the 1%....

I didn't notice. Or more properly, the comments on Asterisk drew my attention to the problem before I had actually tried clicking on the APOD itself (I almost always access the APOD via the roboposting in this forum, not directly).

Surely this - THIS- was the true sign of Nibiru about to strike the Earth, despite all the skeptics and critics saying it didn't exist...

Coincidently, I lost access to NOAA's buoy database, so I figured the House of Reps had mandated that the Federal agencies adopt the House information policies: i.e. no factual information should be allowed public access and only "sound science" that supports the majority policy positions be approved for government websites.

I thought "oh no!" when I didn't get APOD with my customary shortcut. Then I went to NASA.gov and typed in APOD in the search box and found a slide show of pictures from APOD. It got me through even though APOD started out today with Jun 30 picture today. I apreciate the video toward the galactic core that is up now. You're always a big part of my day! :D Look what God hath wrought :!:

As a European citizen, I hadn't been aware of the weather in the US, so my first thoughts were:
1/ Maybe my cable modem is acting up again;
2/ Maybe my ISP has DNS troubles;
3/ Maybe RJN is ill;
4/ Maybe this particular server is down;
5/ Maybe an underground internet cable has been cut.
Only after reading geckzilla’s post did I realize what had happened.

Then I wondered, how many times have there been no APOD? It can't be many. I think the service has been remarkable steady and reliable over the years.

Creí que se trataba de un ataque informático (algún fotógrafo-hacker cabreado, páginas web celosas, el enemigo amarillo...)
I believed that it was a question of an IT assault (some infuriated photographer-hacker, jealous web pages, the yellow enemy...)

I live in Kansas, and I'm so used to local technology problems that I thought it was a glitch in the system at our end!

I thought it looks like I really will have to get one of those computer thingies. Attaching a bent clothes hangar to my left ear really isn't cutting it any more - although Pluto FM is still coming through loud and clear. They're playing Dob Billain's 23rd Asteroid Demotion Blues Again at the moment.
