Ice on lake being forced onto shore, shattering into needles as it does so. "Awesome"? No, but fascinating.
What is happening? Is wind pushing the ice ashore, or miles of ice expanding as it freezes and pushing the ice towards land?
Not astronomical, but that's never stopped APOD putting up interesting geophysical pictures.
