While all the images in this submission gallery are individually pleasing, what I really like here is the gallery itself... the sense of a single astronomical event witnessed (near) simultaneously all over the world, with various geologic or cultural elements in the foreground. A gallery like this really emphasizes that we all live on one world, in the same way pictures of Earth from space does.

Four Nights
This is the conjunction captured over four nights, at about the same time (24 Feb - 27 Feb, ~18:50 MST), by my video allsky meteor camera. You can see the nightly eastward movement of the Moon, and also the slight closing of Jupiter and Venus.

Jupiter, Venus and the Crescent Moon
Copyright: Joe Stieber, Web Page: http://sjastro.org/

Saturday evening, 25-February-2012, at 6:23 pm EST from my backyard in Maple Shade, NJ, USA. I had to edure fast-moving broken clouds, waiting for all three objects to appear simultaneously. Jupiter is at the upper-left apex of the slender triangle they formed while Venus below right of Jupiter, next to the moon. Canon 40D digital SLR camera with a Sigma 18-50 mm f/2.8 zoom lens set to 18 mm focal length. Exposed 1/6 second (handheld) at f/2.8, ISO 800 Sunday evening, 26-February-2012 at 6:24 pm EST from Carranza Field in Wharton State Forest, NJ, USA. The evening was quite clear, so for something different, here's a view of just the objects themselves. Since the previous evening, the moon has moved about 12 degrees eastward and is now near Jupiter. Canon 40D digital SLR camera (on a tripod) with a Sigma 18-50 mm f/2.8 zoom lens set to 50 mm focal length (then cropped a little vertically). Exposed 1/2 second at f/2.8, ISO 400

Just a quick picture I snapped on my way home. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to make it anywhere darker, so I took a seat on the bench and took a couple shots of me staring up.

The picture from Turin also has Mercury in it - just to the left and above the tower at the bottom.
