So as the sun was dipping lower, i moved the tripod to try and catch the sun entering some nearby trees, for a more artistic shot of the Venus transit. Lo and behold, they are right, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometime! Is that a plane? A bird, no it's Venus AND a plane eclipsing the sun!
Nikon D70, 300mm zoom (ugh) lens, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/800 sec, through a JMB ETX-90 Solar filter

After sitting in clouds and rain for almost 3 hours, the sun decided to peek through the clouds for this shot as it set.
It was a surreal view through my camera, as you can see the storm clouds rolling across the sun's face with tiny Venus looming in the foreground.
I got lucky, as this exact view lasted less than 10 seconds before clouds covered the sun's face and then it set moments later.

Details:
An amazing spectacle unfolded at sunrise. I photographed the rising Sun from the coast of the Baltic Sea (Germany)and it was not only Venus who stole the show, but the green flash was also visible. I'll probably remember this image for the rest of my life!
