Using 5 different nights in June I managed to get just over 7 hours together for a deep image of the Trifid. I was surprised by the amount of stuff around the nebula itself which I think is not often imaged so deep.

Time Tree
This was a tree that I sort of stumbled upon while hiking around in Arches National Park, in the dark. I saw it’s silhouette against the light pollution of Moab in the background and coupled with the rising Milky Way on the horizon, I knew it would make for a dramatic scene. I’d battled fast moving clouds all night but in this case, I think the cloud movement adds to the shot a bit.
