Startrails over the Tortolita Mountains
http://www.flickr.com/photos/radicalret ... 761526586/
Copyright: Marion J. Haligowski

Image
Startrails over the Tortolita Mountains by Radical Retinoscopy, on Flickr

A star trail photo was made showing rising stars over the Tortolita range which is located north of Tucson, AZ. The photo was taken facing the eastern sky shortly after moonrise. Each individual image was taken with a Canon t2i and a Canon 100 mm f/2.0 prime lens at f/5.0. Each exposure was 13 seconds at ISO 400. Fifty exposures were stacked using the new startrails.exe version 2.0. Conversion to black and white in Photoshop really intensified the contrast enabling the detail of the saguaros on the ridge to "pop".

Teneriffa Izana Observatory with Moonset

In a beautiful clear night, I could at Izana Observatory photographed this view with the setting moon.
We see the Teide volcano with the next nearest Izana Observatory.
On the right side of the THEMIS solar telescope to be seen.
In the middle of the VVT solar telescope and to the left, the new solar telescope GREGOR.
On the left edge of a piece of the dome can be seen OGS telescope.

The volcano is right and to his left flank is the cable car to see the mountain top with the top station.
Below the mountain are hikers who move from Refugio in 3280 meters above the summit.
the pictures was taken at around 23.30 CET clock.
