Evening at Pueblo Bonito
http://www.ancientskys.com/
https://www.facebook.com/AncientSkys
Copyright: Marc Toso An interesting aspect of Pueblo Bonito's design is it's alignment with the cardinal directions. If a line were drawn through the center of the half circle shape it would lie in an exact north-south orientation. The southern wall is aligned in an east-west orientation, during spring and fall equinoxes the sun rises and sets in perfect alignment with this southern wall.

Nautilus in the sky meets Human constructs in Corfu

Human constructs meets the celestial symmetry, creating a fantastic sight.
Stellar traces of 2.5 hours meet the moat of akropolis the new fortress of Corfu by creating the illusion of Nautilus.
In the photo on the left there is an Iridium Flare, while close to Polaris's a shooting star.

360 Degree Startrail Panorama
Copyright: György Soponyai

The annual astro camp of Hungarian Astronomical Association was held last weekend in Gerecse Mountain near Tarján (~40km from Budapest). During these three nights I took the opportunity to accomplish my long-planned all sky startrail panorama photo with the hope that the light of observing lamps could produce a cool and intimate foreground of the scene. I was very lucky with the weather: only the first night was partially cloudly so I took 106 minutes of exposure (53 x 2 min) turning the camera to different directions every night.

On the Western horizon some light pollution of Tatabánya is clearly visible.

THE CRESCENT NEBULA NGC 6888
Copyright: Samuele Gasparini
http://www.astrobook.it/index.htm
Location: Torre Doganiera farm (Pievescola-Tuscany-Italy)
Telescope: Boren Simons 20 cm with Moravian G2-4000 and HAlpha+OIII+LRGB Filters
Description from Wikipedia: The Crescent Nebula (also known as NGC 6888, Caldwell 27, Sharpless 105) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, about 5000 light-years away. It was discovered by Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel in 1792.[2] It is formed by the fast stellar wind from the Wolf-Rayet star WR 136 (HD 192163) colliding with and energizing the slower moving wind ejected by the star when it became a red giant around 250,000[3] to 400,000[citation needed] years ago. The result of the collision is a shell and two shock waves, one moving outward and one moving inward. The inward moving shock wave heats the stellar wind to X-ray-emitting temperatures.
It is a rather faint object located about 2 degrees SW of Sadr. For most telescopes it requires a UHC or OIII filter to see. Under favorable circumstances a telescope as small as 8cm (with filter) can see its nebulosity. Larger telescopes (20cm or more) reveal the crescent or a Euro sign shape which makes some to call it the "Euro sign nebula".
