Milky Way Panoramic from the Deerlick Astronomy Village. 79 1 minute exposures stitched together. Canon T5i with 50mm.
created a version pointing out some cool astro-objects and labeling some of the more interesting ones as well.

Copyright: Eric Benedetti Shot with my NIkon D600 and Rokinon 85mm f1.4 lens on an iOptron Skytracker, 6 panels stitched together, each panel is a stack of 8 shots, ISO 400, f2.5, and 2 of each exposure at 4 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, and 1 minute. Each panel was stacked with Deep Sky Stacker, initial edits done with PixInsight, then all the panels were stitched with PTGui and final edits were done with Photoshop and Lightroom. Shot from a Bortle 4/5 zone at Rockport Reservoir, Utah.

This is amazing, you really get a feel for the dust in this area! Not only is there the Rho Ophiuchi area but there is also the giant Zeta Ophiuchi emission nebula above it.

The other great thing about this region is that is suits imagers at all imaging scales. There is something for 32 inch telescopes on a mountain in Chile and 4 inch widefield scopes in a backyard.

The bright object that lit up the sky over southern New Zealand on the 19th.
What was first thought to be a Meteor turned out to be the re-entry of a Soyuz upper stage (NORAD #41671, COSPAR 2016-045B)
