Why is everything in the universe spinning ?

Post by The Code » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:23 pm

Why is everything in the universe spinning ?

When i say everything. I mean everything. Every single Dot of space time. Every single particle, The whole Shebang. ?

Is there some inner force ?

Why wouldn't everything be spinning? There are an infinite number of values that anything can have for angular momentum, and only one, infinitesimally small value of zero.

Now, an interesting question might be whether the total angular momentum of the Universe is zero or not, but it's hard to imagine how any individual component could have anything but a non-zero value.
Is there some inner force ?
There are no forces involved.

Hear the synchronized vibrations from a chorus of more than 4,000 nano-whistles, created when physicists pushed superfluid helium-4 though an array of nanometer-sized holes. Note that the pitch drops as the pressure drops.

Oh ? Why Is That ?

A galaxy, A particle, A Planet, A Solar System, All Spinning. Something is the cause . But Are they all the same ?

How could the Universe Not be spinning ?

How could there not be forces at work, that we have no knowledge of ?

Just defining what it means for the Universe to be spinning introduces difficult problems.

You might ask what forces were involved in setting different objects to spinning in the first place, but forces are not required to explain why things continue to spin. You don't imagine that rotating or orbiting planets depend on any forces to keep them that way, do you?
