M57 "Ring Nebula"

Post by Run Duke » Fri May 12, 2006 4:27 am

I've always guessed that the "Ring Nebula" if viewed from a different angle (that would be only an option in space) would have an hour-glass shape as many planetary nebulas do.., it looks like a ring maybe because we see it at a particular angle, ie: front view!

Hi, Harry, "salut à tous tes compatriotes (from Quebec) " ...if I'm right about the "Ring Nebula's" real shape, it could be simulated based on what we see with computers !

Hello Run

Yep and yep in many cases.

There are others where another compact star ripps the star envelope. Buts a different situation.

Tell me in Quebec do they have stars in the sky.

If not here in Sydney we have so many we could lend you some.
