APOD 05/25/05

Post by Kevin7276 » Wed May 25, 2005 2:35 pm

I check out the APOD almost every day this picture I wanted to set as my background but when I did I noticed something. The rings have a swirl pattern that looks like a stone skiping across a pond. I understand how radio waves were used to gather the information but I do not understand why this "skiping Rock Pattern" would show up if anyone has any ideas I would love to here them.

that's the computer's imaging system.
look at the smaller photo and you'll see they are even.
or zoom the original photo up to REALLY big and they are smooth again.
mine did the same thing

don't "stretch" wallpaper, "center" it. or resize with something like photoshop/gimp.

I think it has to do with a little more than the way I view it on the computer. If you look close at the actual picture in "real" size you can see the definite patern in the pixels them selves.

well, "image itself" could be resized number of times before make it into APOD site.
