NGC 1333 (LBN 741, VDB 17, LDN 1448) - Open Cluster associated with nebulosity - a star forming region in Perseus

NGC 1333 is located in the constellation Perseus and is a beautiful example of a reflection nebula embeded with an open star cluster. NGC 1333 is first discovered by Eduard Schonfeld in 1855 and it is a bright reflection nebula in the western portion of the Perseus molecular cloud. The star BD +30 549 illuminates NGC 1333 and was found to be a B8 spectral type (van den Bergh 1966; Racine 1968). Today the term (moniker) NGC 1333 is used to denote the molecular cloud and young stellar cluster associated with the optical reflection nebula.

ARP245 Colliding Galaxies
http://fth.bounceme.net/
Copyright: Fred Herrmann All rights reserved.
This isn’t the prettiest picture, but one of the more interesting. The two galaxies (NGC2992 and NGC2993) collectively referred to as ARP245 are in the throws of an epic galactic scale collision. Both galaxies are about 125 million years distant in the constellation Hydra.
The time period that these types of galactic collisions involve are on the order of billions of years. If you look closely you can see material being shared between the two galaxies.
Here's the link to the image: Here's the link to a Youtube video showing a simulation of galaxy collisions with actual Hubble Telescope observations interlaced:

This image depicts amateur astrophotographer Marc Laxineta during an image session at 3am on April 14th. The location is "Gmars" the goat mountain astronomical research station, a dark site in Landers Ca. where the members of the Riverside Astronomical society hosts their star parties. Goat mountain can be seen in the background.

Full Moon Over Saguaro (Cirrus Fibratus & Intortus )
A moon lit saguaro cactus, with a sky filled with cirrus fibratus and intortus clouds.
As a photographer you have to appreciate just how much light our full moon reflects back to us from our sun.
It gives us a little perspective of just how much our nocturnal animals can see at night.
