Startrails above Mount Bromo This picture was taken in June 2014 on a lookout point named King Kong Hill, overlooking the volcanoes in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The nearest mountain in the centre is Mount Batok, the steaming crater on the left is Mount Bromo, and on the far is the erupting Mount Semeru. Mount Bromo sits inside the Tengger caldera of fine volcanic sand, with a diameter of approximately 10 km. The bright streaks of light at the caldera below a layer of fog were jeeps carrying tourists to lookout points to view sunrise. This star trails above the volcanoes were a combination of 270 images with a total exposure time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. All the stars rotate around the south celestial pole except of one that “did not behave” (a meteor near the centre right of the picture). The rising Moon brightened the landscape and made the sky bluish.

Milky Way and Fireball This picture was taken in June 2014 at Lava View Lodge in Cemoro Lawang, the major access point to the Tengger caldera which on it sits the steaming crater of Mount Bromo and Mount Batok. The summer Milky Way shinning above the volcanoes and a fireball made it appearance by briefing brightened up the surrounding. The sky was bright and blue because of the Moon.

This is a 360 degree pano taken from atop Castle Rock at Castlepoint in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. I made the climb under darkness, which made it somewhat more challenging than normal. Castle Rock stands at a height of 162m above sea level, and the Castlepoint lighthouse is perched 62m above sea level at the opposite end of the beach below.

The galactic core of the Milky Way was rising to the east over the ocean, and the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds can be seen to the left of it. The Zodiacal Light is seen to the bottom right of the sky dome. The 400 megapixel image consists of 32 images all shot at 24mm on a Gigapan Epic Pro.

M17 - The Omega Nebula in Wide Field

The Omega Nebula, also known as the Swan Nebula (catalogued as Messier 17 or M17 and as NGC 6618) is an H II region in the constellation Sagittarius. The Omega Nebula is between 5,000 and 6,000 light-years from Earth and it spans some 15 light-years in diameter. It is considered one of the brightest and most massive star-forming regions of our galaxy. Its local geometry is similar to the Orion Nebula except that it is viewed edge-on rather than face-on. An open cluster of 35 stars lies embedded in the nebulosity and causes the gases of the nebula to shine due to radiation from these hot, young stars. It's also one of the youngest clusters known, with an age of just 1 million years

A Montage (top-present) of Mars from August 2013 through August 2014. showing its size difference as it got closest and now gaining distance from this apparition. But will continue to image it as much as possible. This is just a third of acquired images in this cycle.

Fuego, Acatenango & Agua, Volcanoes in Guatemala, Central América, the pacific fire chain.

This beautiful astrophoto was pretty dificult because of the air speed, the air was blowing around 80 km/h, I was near another active volcanoe, the Pacaya, on my right, not in this picture, I was able to see the lava and it was so intense when you get too close to this marvel creation of nature.

In the sky what I want to highlight is Perseus on the top right of the picture. I was looking west, Cassiopeia on the bottom right, Andromeda and Pisces in the middle of the picture and above this two, Aries and Triangulum.

From Guatemala, Central America.
