I, too, was stunned at the quality of Rolf Wahl Olsen's portrait of Centaurus A.

Congratulations, Rolf! That's a fabulous image! Just look at the outer "shells" of the main elliptical body of Cen A. These are remnants of the expansion of the outer parts of Cen A when the spiral galaxy started crashing into it. Or else they are remnants of similar collisions that have happened before in the long history of this galaxy.

Fantastic!

"Southwest Planetary Trio"

The planetary trio – from bottom to top: Jupiter, Venus, Mercury – has been an awesome sight in the west after sunset, and it’s still happening – at least through tonight. A planetary trio is when three planets fit within a circle with a 5-degree, or smaller, diameter.

Beautiful image, Lluís!
As a side note, I guess you skipped the submission process, the selection process, waiting to get scheduled in for the APOD, and just posted it! I like it!!!

"IRIS"

The setting Moon lights up the landscape as an Aurora Australis display dances on the horizon and The Milky Way stretches overhead. Aurora Australis are exactly the same as The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis but they are less commonly observed as there is very little landmass in the southern hemisphere where the lights frequently occur.

Here is the Panorama of Perth on the autumn day, 25th of May 2013 …
The Sun was almost gone – still visible yellowish reflection on some of higher buildings, the Moon had just risen, but was disappearing behind a band of clouds.
Also nicely visible are 4 light towers of the Subiaco Oval.
