I actually had few days of internet outage, then forgot about smo, then came back here and found that wonderboy is nominated for a winner. that's to explain why I didn't post anything.

As for the place the crop was taken from, I have noticed later that it was scaled down (probably from a screenshot in scale-to-fit mode), that's why I didn't find it in the image. Any way, I would have to think about new smo for some time so, if wonderboy has an image ready to post by now, why don't he post it..

Agreed. If it takes three years to solve a puzzle, it takes three years. There's no reason to cut one off early just because it's hard.

I was disappointed. I don't have a lot of time to work on these, but I did spend a few minutes a day trying possibilities. I would have liked to keep trying.

Guess the Result of the Experiment of the Day (GRED)

A classic double slit experiment is done with light (photons) that creates an interference pattern on a distant image screen. The experiment is repeated, except now a sharp-eyed intruder (person) places their head in front of the image screen and looks toward the slits. The person's eyesight is good enough to discern each slit individually.

Will the sharp-eyed person see a net flux from the slits that corresponds to the interference pattern behind them? In other words, is the net flux the same at any position regardless of whether the detector is an eye or a screen?
