APOD: APOD is 15 Years Old Today (2010 Jun 16)

My computer's home page since I first found APOD in 2006. I've got no plans to change that as it's a constant source of wonder.
Well done to Robert and Jerry for your consistent ability to open my eyes to something new (to me) and wonderous.
Every now and then one of my children will come and sit on my knee and see the APOD page for the day and say Wow! Dad, what's that? Then the learning begins...

For constantly providing inspiration to, and keeping a tight bond between all amateur and professional astronomers around the world.
Personally I've been following the site ever since 2000-2001, but I made sure to download all the archive a few years ago (maybe now would be a good time to update it ).
And it's not all about "pretty pictures". There's much more scientifically valuable information connected to the images, links to comprehensive explanation wherever needed and on top of it all, the desire to share with everyone interested the latest discoveries in the field.
For all this i send you a big "THANK YOU!" and may it reach its 150-th anniversary

Happy birthday to APOD and a special thanks for providing such stunning images. It is one of the first things I open after checking my emails - it is required viewing to see what wonder is on show each day.

That collage is just simple awesome - I have picked out several images so far that I recognise - I need to zoom in more to find other images.

I have seen several pictures made up in a similar way but this one is just stunning.

APOD has been required viewing for about 5 years now and they never cease to amaze me.

Well done to the guys for providing this service - you are stars!!!! Keep up the good work - I envy you getting to see all that beauty in the cosmos.
