Happy Birthday- APOD - at 15, I'd expect some adolescent surprises! In fact, the digitized Vermeer today was indeed unexpected in the extreme. Very creative. APOD has been my home page since about June 1996. The first thing I do on every new computer is set my homepage to APOD - Like you said, there is nothing like a little consistency in life.

Over the years when I have been working with others in my office I open my browser and the first thing everyone sees is APOD. Many times that day's image has sparked some kind of conversation - could be anything from "What the heck is that" all the way to "That picture is beautiful"

I hope to see APOD for many, many more years. You are an invaluable asset to the web community. Thank You.

I have looked at the APOD every morning since... sometime in the last century. I changed it to my landing page when I suffered depression. (Much less depressing than the news)

Unfortunately, the mosaic software doesn't tell me which of the APODs it actually used out of the 5,504 I gave it to choose from.
