Here is my latest aurora/astro video contribution for APOD. I have tried to show how the nightskies kan be very far north in the northern hemisphere, from autumn, winter to spring.
The video shows subtle to extreme auroras, both timelapse and realtime, some start trails and milky way.

Although geomagnetic storms are the most energetic to mankind, they are still silent to the human ear, this also goes for auroral substorms, hence the title! :)
However they are still storms, so I fit some dramatic music to the scenes to substantiate how I perceive an extreme aurora display!

I was lucky to record some of the best auroras I have ever recorded, as well as a beautiful multicolored coronal auroa, which I do not expect to be able to capture again.

This is a compilation of panoramas, timelapses, and still photos that I have taken of the night sky in Maine and New Hampshire over the past couple of years.

After several days and nights on the Canary island of Tenerife, a lapse has occurred. Clouds like water. Night sky!
