I was expecting the pictures to get better considering the improvements in satellites in orbit and those sent to the other planets in our solar system. I find better pictures at Wiki and NASA. What the hay!!
And with all the money it costs to subscribe to APotD, it's a disgrace, I tell ya . . .

C'mon, guys. APOD has kept us fascinated and amazed for years with wonderful images and educational explanations. If the occasional quirky APOD doesn't suit your taste, get over it. How about thanking Robert Nemiroff and Jerry Bonnell for their work: most of the time we all love it!

Don't be too hard on the site, I love it. I'm not a member of any brain trust, and was never very good at school, but I get a big "wow" out of most of the posts and a feeling of empathy and respect for those who do that for a career. So thank you and keep it up. You're allowed to stray from the path now and again, I'm sure we can all forgive that.

Thanks. I learned something new to me. Keep learning or ossify. Look what happened to the dinosaurs because they didn't have APOD.

Pathetic. The negative comments, that is.
APOD, you've been my home page since August of '95 and will continue to be. Thanks!!!

Well, this is really great. Yesterday all I got was a great big white blank spot and today it's a lousy computer code that only an appliance I will probably never own can read. Is this APoD or Fox News? Let me know when you get back to the purpose for this site. I am sorely tempted to stop checking in every day.

If you stare at it long enough, and let your eyes kinda go lazy, you can see three galaxies colliding with each other - or is that an elk?

Very disappointing APOD picture. But I'm ok with not all APOD pictures being to my liking, and a few once in a rare while even being off topic.

Anyway, why don't someone start a AAPOD (amateur astronomy picture of the day)?

This one is often wandering off to be more like science/earth/nature picture of the day.

Dear APOD,

Firstly, thank you for such an excellent web site.
Secondly, may I request that you consider only allowing posts from registered users. This should have the effect of minimising the number of
comments by viewers who only wish to post nonsense and insults.

Whilst today's APOD has generated a significant response, it is for all the wrong reasons.

Kindly,
Mario

This is a pretty interesting change-up; I learned something new today (one of the many reasons I visit APOD), as I'd been seeing these 'QR Codes' in many places recently.
Great job, APOD!

Oh, and to all the whiners/complainers: Please feel free to start your own site.
Buh-bye!

I wish to see pictures about astronomy, not futuristic bar codes that only computers can read and, based on other posts, only lead back to the home page anyway.

Today's APOD reminds me of a possible Tile pattern. :? I have no good of bad impressions about it.

I do have to agree with most of the posts - a morning disappointment! I do not even have a phone with a QR code reader - and I'm glad I don't because it would have been annoying to decode and end up in a loop!

BTW - I LOVE APOD!
