Here is a deep image of NGC 3718 this was one of the best 2 nights of seeing that I can remember. I took all the luminance data on those nights.
Aladin Sky Atlas cataloged over 5000 gal down to under 24th magnitude.

Wow-wow-wow, what an image, Mark! :shock: :D

I've never seen the outer arms of NGC 3718 captured in such detail! And, in the larger version of your image, look at that starforming ring of NGC 3729, too.

Mars on opposition to the Sun, on April 9th, 03:58ut. below average conditions.Olympus Mons is very visible and possibly the crater itself low oragraphic clouds are less in this region on this time period. Now within 6 days to its close approach to Earth. (Equipment: LX200ACF 12 in. OTA, CGE mount, Flea3 Ccd, TeleVue 3x barlows, Astronomik RGB filter set.)

Saturn and the moons Tethys and Enceladus on April 6th, 06:13ut. Conditions improved after my session with Mars but for a short time. Now within a month from opposition in May.

This is an untracked single exposure from the Karoo [semi]desert in South Africa. Zodiacal light that can only be seen in areas free of light pollution, including moonlight is visible. Also included in the image are the LMC and SMC, the core of our Milky Way galaxy, Venus, and other southern hemisphere celestial objects.

Ninety-four 30 second exposures were taken with a Canon T2i and a Canon 8-15L mm lens and stacked in StarStaX (8mm / 400 ISO / f/4.5). It was a beautiful sight to see Mars, Jupiter and the moon in a Pennsylvania farm field on this cool spring evening.
