Hi all!

This is NGC 132, a spiral galaxy in the constellation Sculptor. It is the main galaxy of a whole group. At both ends there are star currents, possibly the galaxy interacts with other galaxies. ESO 350-26 on the left above is an equally distant low surface brightness galaxy, which also appears deformed.

This HDR image is a composite of 9 separate bracketed images which gave Venus more definition as she sets toward the horizon. Saturn is to its right and slightly below Venus.

NGC1499 California Nebula

The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus. It is so named because it appears to resemble the outline of the US State of California on long exposure photographs. ( ES ED80 APO, ST2000xm Ccd, AO8, CF9, Ha, OIII, SII Narrow Band Filters )

A "snow globe" with a star party under the Milky Way. A mosaic of 9 single exposures. The peak of the MW is at the zenith, and the width of the MW at the horizon is 180 degrees. Vega at top is behind the viewer's position.

This is an image of the entire Northern Milky Way from Sagittarius to Orion. This area of sky is so large you can't see it all at any one time of year. Two thirds of the image was taken in the summer when Sagittarius was in the Southern sky and the remaining third with Orion was taken in the last two months as it is now in the Southern sky. I think this is the biggest mosaic I will ever take. It's made up of some 60 images taken through a 35mm lens. However, the detail in many of the Nebulae come from images I took over the last 9 years with either 70mm lens, a 530mm or 700mm focal length refractor. So this single image has been 9 years in the making, contains most of my astrophotography taken over that period, and represents well over 1000 hours of light collection. The image is best viewed in high resolution so you can scroll through from one end of he galaxy to the other. If you want to take a closer look at pretty much all the major nebulae and two of the major galaxies in our Northern Hemisphere night sky you can find a set of higher resolution images at the link below. Major objects visible include Seagull, Barnards Loop, Eridanus Super Bubble, M42, Horsehead, M78, Rosette, Cone, Jellyfish, Monkey Head, Simeis 147, Flaming Star, California, Pleiades, Heart and Soul, M31, M33, Elephants Trunk, North America, Pelican, Veil, Butterfly, Crescent, Eagle, Swan, Lagoon, Triffid but there are many more Sharpless, Messier and NGC objects you can see.

This is a multi image mosaic of the area of sky around Orion. It contains many well know nebulae including the Seagull, Barnards Loop, M42, Horsehead, M78, Rosette, Cone, Jellyfish, Monkeyhead, Simeis 147, Flaming Star, California, M45, Eridanus Super Bubble. This image was taken at 4 different focal lengths. 35mm and 70mm lenses were used for the star background and very widefield nebulosity. Nebula detail was taken through either a 700mm or 530mm focal length refractor. Data was collected through H-alpha, Luminance, Red, Green and Blue filters. Total data acquisition time was well in excess of 100 hours. You can view a larger version of the image here.

The Rosette Nebula (also known as Caldwell 49) is a large spherical H II region (circular in appearance) located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy.( ES ED80 APO, ST2000xm Ccd, AO8, CF9, Ha, OIII, SII filters.)

Seems that everyone is on holiday, so am i, in order to observe the December 26, 2019 annular solar eclipse! ! This is a photo of the eclipsed sun rising from the sea, in two pieces, with evident lower mirage distortions. The annular phase of the eclipse was blocked by clouds here in Al Wakrah, Qatar, but this was the most thrilling sunrise of my life. I also add two more photos.

Oh wow, Alistair, I looked at the full resolution image and was blown away! The resolution is so deep, with all those tiny little stars clearly resolved, that I can't even imagine how many pixels must go into that image! And you bring out so many nebulas it made my head spin! I asked myself, where are the Heart and Soul nebulas? Can't be that trio up there, can it, because I'm looking for two nebulas and not three, right? But it really was the Heart and Soul - the Soul was just amazingly sharp and "clear-cut" - along with their unknown and "invisible" third sibling next to the blue vdB 14 and 15 reflection nebulas in Camelopardalis!

I spent some time trying to find the major nebulas, but the Bubble nebula next to M52 just stumped me.

Anyway, your image is just amazing!

Supernova remnant G206.9+2.3

A very faint but impressive supernova remnant - located a little bit north of the constellation Orion.
The nebula with a size of 60x40 arcminutes is surrounded by lots of Ha nebulosity and is very rarely photographed.
