On November 14, 2021 from my front yard, I captured comet 67P.

Discovered in 1969 by two Russian astronomers, comet 67P has an orbit which brings it close to Earth every 6.4 years. The Rosetta spacecraft was launched in 2004 to rendezvous with 67P and arrived in 2014. Its lander touched down on the surface in 2016. The lander, Philae, confirmed 67P's composition of water vapor and dust ejected is mixed with a significant amount of formaldehyde and methanol causing the colors we see as the comet travels through the solar winds.

Melotte 15

Melotte 15 is an open cluster of bright stars located at the Heart of the Heart Nebula. Named for its discoverer, Philibert Jacques Melotte (1880-1961), the grouping of O-type supergiants is only about 1.5 million years old. 'O' stars are the brightest and most massive known- about 20 to 100 times larger than the Sun.

Beautiful lunar eclipse over the Andes, Nahuel Huapi lake and the city of Bariloche. During the final stages, with the Moon about to set and the sky so clear, it was phantasmagoric.

Milky Way's sisters surfing the IFN

I dreamed about this frame for a long time - the two closest to us spiral galaxies - M31 and M33 in a wide field. I have already approached this frame many times, this time from the Bieszczady Mountains and finally successful - I mainly cared about this background - delicate, very weak, subtle IFN (Integrated Flux Nebula) dusts, which they make in this picture as a dressing for the right dish . The photo is a mosaic of 3 frames, 40-50 frames each. The light was caught by the Samyang135/2 together with the modified Nikon D610.

Today, after the sun sets in the west, the moon close to the eclipse rises in the belt of Venus in the east. In the gray-blue shadow of the earth, this special full moon with only a little bright area is really beautiful!

Orion's horse

One of the most identifiable nebulae in the sky, the Horsehead Nebula in the Orion constellation, is part of a large, dark, molecular cloud. Also known as Barnard 33, the unusual shape was first discovered on a photographic plate in the late 1800s.

The red glow originates from hydrogen gas predominantly behind the nebula, ionized by the nearby bright star Sigma Orionis. The darkness of the Horsehead is caused mostly by thick dust, although the lower part of the Horsehead's neck casts a shadow to the left. Streams of gas leaving the nebula are funneled by a strong magnetic field. Bright spots in the Horsehead Nebula's base are young stars just in the process of forming. Light takes about 1500 years to reach us from the Horsehead Nebula.

Eclipse at Moonrise in Belt of Venus
The rising or setting of the full moon in the Belt of Venus is a very rare and dreamy sight. On November 19, 2021, a moonrise eclipse occurred in Taiwan. The moonrise time is 5:03 pm, the magnitude of eclipse is as high as 98%, and the sunset time is 5:07 pm. I am on a mountain at an altitude of 3000 meters. The weather is good. And the air is clean. Everything seemed to satisfy the needs of this dreamscape. It seemed that I could not only see the full moon rising in the Belt of Venus , but also the full moon with almost total eclipse, so I began to imagine:
"In the clear gray-blue shadow of the earth below the pink Belt of Venus, a dark red blood moon with only a little light area rises in the mountains of the east..."
But in fact, when I first saw the rising moon, all my imagination disappeared instantly. There was no dark red blood moon, only a little bright area smaller than the crescent moon appeared in the gray-blue earth shadow! At first glance, the central angle of the moon is only about 60 degrees, which is really small. It turns out that the sky is still bright at this time, and the dark red area close to the total eclipse is of course invisible!
The photo is a stack of several partial eclipse moons at different times. The background picture is the first sight of the tiny moon rising in the Belt of Venus .

Lunar Eclipse from Brooklyn, NY

The clouds cleared just in time to see the peak of the eclipse. It was a rather cold and windy night in NYC.
The images were captured with a Sigma 150-500mm. Contemporary lens attached to a Canon 80D. I really wish I had a tracker so I could have stayed in the warmth of the vehicle with the remote control.
