todays APOD The Last Titan

What a beautiful view of a rocket launch. With booster technology not changing much over the years; why drop the Titan?

Who manufactured the Titan?

What is the follow up launch platform? Who is the manufacturer of the replacement?

Try clicking on the links. The APOD people do a bang up job of providing great links that will answer most of your questions.

Considering the retrograde direction NASA is now going with it's space program, I would have to say that the Saturn and Atlas rockets would be their choice for replacement rockets. :roll:
