A suggestion regarding big images

Hi Guys

I've been watching APOD on and off since '95, and its still a favourite. More recently, you've been posting pretty huge 'big' images. These are often fantastic, great for printing etc, however, usability-wise online they suck...

Why not use Zoomify? Its a free tool, drag and drop creator and a tiny Flash app that gives Google Earth style pan and zoom for ANY large image in a window size you define, by 'tiling' the image. Would not take long to set up or run but would allow ppl to explore larger images online, easily.

Here's one of the mars surface panorama - took less than a minute to do: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mike.lownd ... /mars.html

cheers
Mike
