2017 Total Solar Eclipse C2 with Corona and Shadow Band

During the 2nd contact of the Total Solar Eclipse, a Corona (atmospheric optics with the rainbow colour) appeared around the Diamond Ring, with Shadow Bands casting within the corona (the stripes on both sides of the Corona).
A thin layer of cloud in between the sun and ground is believed to created the appearance of the Corona and Shadow Band.

Canon EOS 6D 1/1250 ISO200 triggered by Solar Eclipse Maestro
Optics: Televue Pronto 480mm f/6.8
Equatorial mount: UNITEC SWAT350
Location: Painted Hills, Oregon, USA

Electric night

I was shooting the milky way at Capo Spartivento, south Sardinia, but there was a thunderstorm coming from africa starting with lightning strikes every 2 minutes. What a fantastic lucky night to shoot the Milky Way with lightning.

This field would have to be one of the most beautiful in the whole sky. Right in the heart of Scorpius, the majestic mix of colours, caused by various atomic and physical processes, produce a Kaleidoscope view for the eye to feast on.

NLC from Poland.
During the night from 21 to 22/06/2019. in the western sky you will see unique clouds.
NLC, also known as silvery clouds, have become very bright. They are mesospheric clouds appearing at high altitudes (75-85 km above the surface of our planet) of the dark sky, shining with silver light, hence their name.
There was nothing unusual about it except for the fact that they were visible even in the Czech Republic and further south.
The fact that this night shone colorfully, which is a very rare phenomenon, was a world-wide phenomenon.
Hunters of this phenomenon have the opportunity to admire a unique spectacle in the sky.

They can be observed an hour after the western sky and the northern sky.
Take a look at this title sometimes, maybe you will be able to observe them.

Lunar Curve by Giorgia Hofer

by gioyhofer » Mon Jun 24, 2019 5:44 am

https://www.giorgiahoferphotography.com ... m-jfdu3try

Explanation:
This is a lunar curve, not a lunar analemma and I explain why
The position of the Moon has been resumed every 1,481 minutes, ie 24 hours and 41 minutes. For
get a classic analemma, it would have been
it is necessary to wait 24 hours and 51 minutes (the rhythm
of the lunar month). There is a 10 minute gap.
In this way his Moon is
always a little "in advance" and this justifies the
wider curve: the satellite in the photograph is
in fact located a little further to the left of the
typical position of the analemma. The advance, which
at the end it is about 4 hours between the first day (in
top right) and the last (bottom left), not
has effect on the lunar phase recovered, at least for this
that we can perceive from the ground (enlightenment
of the satellite does not vary significantly in this
time frame). So, except for the
first shot (the one at the top right: as
explained before, the chronological progression goes from
right to left), the placement of the Moon in the
heavenly vault is always farther from that
classic.
It is therefore a choice: the composition
it does not represent the synodic month but "only" the
lunar curve, reproducing something that exists
really but that does not have a precise definition.
For a question of correctness and clarity,
I deliberately talked about "lunar curve" e
not of "synodic curve" or "lunar analemma"
just in reference to the longer time intervals
short between shots.
It will not be a classic analemma but it is anyway e
certainly a curve of great charm!
