The vast majority of APOD images show objects that cannot be seen with the eye, or are at best vague gray objects. So most are "enhanced" to allow human vision to make the most of the underlying data. That is completely standard practice in scientific imaging.

Which pictures? What do you mean "enhanced"? And by whom?

If you mean the APOD editors, the answer is no. They might crop a photo for presentation (make it fit) on the web page, but the "click thru" images are true to what was submitted.
