I have to wonder whether she asked Mr. Hart for permission to use his image; I know where I'd place my wager if someone were making book on this!

Good for Anthony for pursuing his rights, and too bad the journalist didn't do his homework and made others do what he should have done in the first place.

Evidently, the person whose account was disabled, only partially learned her lesson. It seems her account has been reinstated. On her Wall Photos are several APODs (including today), complete with text. Although she does provide the image credit and copyright from the APOD, there is no link back or credit to APOD.

I just became aware of APOD being mentioned in an online article from 2010 about image permissions and posts on Facebook. A link to that article is here: http://spaceref.ca/this-week-in-space-f ... da-19.html. APOD and one of APOD's frequent image contributors are mentioned about half way down the main article. The article is followed by much discussion.
