Hi Harry! My suggestion was that this might be a great place to observe; being that it is a similar place as to where the sun was born. Must be also a similar place as to where Earth and rest of solar system was born. Maybe more can be learned. I don't know much of black holes except that nothing is...

Dusty NGC 1333

If our Sun was created in a like area; wouldn't this be a great place to study? Might be planets forming there also?

This is also an awesome APOD; Like the Fourth of July!!!

You are all correct, I'm sure. The evidence is there. I was looking for a comparison view of Prometheus [companion moon] but I could not find a good view. I wanted to see if there were comparable features. It should also have smooth features.

Pandora A shepherd of Saturn

The craters are so smooth that heat must have been applied at some point in time to melt some of the surface.

I typed Itokawa into the Google and found the asteroid looks more like a potato. The square shapes must be from overlapping photos of the object.

This asteroid looks like it has surface features that are not natural. Almost looks like flat surfaces and square corners abound all around. There is a large such area under and to the left of the [flag] shadow.

That's very interesting; but I was asking about the wobble that causes the changes in seasons; and whether of not all planets and or asteroids and satellites were also affected in this way. Is this a natural phenomenon or is it unique to the Earth and the Moon???

Lunation

The Moon wobbles once an orbit; the Earth also wobbles once an orbit. Is this phenomenon the norm or is it relatively rare? I mean do other planets and their moons have this wobble?

I made a diagram at home like makc's because I was sure I was right and I started having doubts. I even took it to three times the distance and the ratio stayed the same. I don't really understand the degrees of arc concept.

Since Mars is twice the diameter of the moon; it would have to be twice the distance to appear the same size as the full moon. You could research all planets accordingly. I don't think I would like such a cluttered sky.

NGC 7635 The Bubble Nebula

I couldn't resist; I made this my Desktop item. What an awesome view. It looks like the bubble has actual substance. It even looks like a reflection on the right of the bubble.

AN observation: I noticed that the granules look like they are stretched out at the sunspot's depression. Is this also caused by the sun's strong magnetic field?

The point I was trying to make was that the old rhyme of starlight star bright usually was looking at planets. As kids; unless you know they are planets; they usually are the first stars [planets] you see at night.

Yes I know! And I know your just kidding; but you know that when viewing the lights in the sky they are thought of as stars. I see I also misspelled stormy. I ran a spell check but must not check the subject line. The October 31 APOD has as even better view of Mars. The APOD's get better all the tim...
