Re: Signals of a Strange Universe

unless I'm mistaken I believe that to be the Black Eye Galaxy M64/NGC4826 as for the Brightness of the center bulge, I have no clue other then to speculate its caused by intense Radiation of matter falling on to the accretion disk around the supermassive black hole.

Even before reading the title I could see the bird in this one, my first thought being Phoenix (sorry Arizona .. not thinking of you at first thought, but as a Canadian who doesn't like winter maybe I'll ride my moped your way come October.) It would be a nice place to winter vacation...... and the...

Re: Saturn's moons (2009 March 19)

I find it hard (some really amazing photos excepted) to get excited over stuff like this in picture form, to really appreciate I have to see it with my own telescope, really impressive picture though..... if you have never done it, see it with your own eye (via scope)

Supernova

Would the local conditions of a supernova be similar or equal to those found at a "big bang"? For the first 10^-43 would the area be domintated with Radiation and Plasma? or are these explosions not thought to be that powerful?

Re: Extra Time Dimension & Loop Quantum Gravity

The book I mentioned in another post (endless universe) had really made me think hard about our view of a "big bang" singularity begining, the more I read about the Cyclic model the more it makes me say..... "Hmmm"

Kinda off topic here but that picture of Centaurus A, is that a blue jet exiting it (from center to the upper left of the picture) or something either compleatly unrelated to this galaxy or possibly not even there other then in this picture

Beyond the Big Bang

http://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=563 This is a book I picked up this week. Very interesting insight on an alternative model for the universe and how it functions (not physicaly but from "creation" to "end") I have only just started said book, but the Ideas stated w...

Re: Beyond the universe

according to Hubble Law (if I understand correctly, as I am only an amature Physicist... full time Auto Mechanic) objects outside the Hubble sphere (13.8billion ly away) objects such as galaxys would be moving away from us faster then the speed of light, IE: light hasn't had time to reach our small ...

Re: Mirror imaged in a higher dimension

other then the Physics of a black hole state otherwise (once in, no information leaves) its still interesting to wonder where things go once they pass the event horizion, maybe it all exits outside the Hubble sphere haha

Re: Mirror imaged in a higher dimension

I have always thought that the Supermassive black holes at the center of Galaxys are "attached" to one another. for example... stars falling into our own (sagA*) would then be deposited by exiting another supermassive black hole (say in Andromeda)
